Default Geared and Aluminum DS

So I'm getting some 4.10's installed and my aluminum DS put in soon. What kind of et drop should I expect. One thing that is for certain is that I'll have to almost relearn how to drive and my redline points. Does anyone have experience on how drastic or little the change will be from 3.73's to 4.10's?

FWIW I went from 3.55 to 4.10. I knocked right at .5 of a second off my 0-60 time.

I dont think you'll get a whoooole lot of et change. the driveshaft prolly wont be noticeable. gear change might drop you .2 or so but the biggest thing is going to be are your tires up to the task?

Every car is different. Well, an LS1, a 3V, a 4V, and a 2V are all going to be different is what I mean. As long as you got the tire to back it and are on top of your shifts, I think you'll drop a good bit of ET. Your car is going to rev way quicker with the gear and less rotating mass, so even if you don't have the tires to hold it the car is still going to bring the RPM up a hell of a lot quicker than it does with 3.73s and the steel DS.

I've done 4.10s and an aluminum DS on other cars. It makes a difference for sure.

I'm currently have bfg kdw 2's mounted on my rear wheels. Way better than my bald all season pirelli's I had when I last hit the track. I never did a burnout, had a horrible crosswind and launched no higher than 1500 when I went 13.7's. I'd like to get lighter wheels or a use my stock 17's and mount some mt's or something like that.

I'm going to agree with this answer. If you were going from 2.73 to 4.10s I 'd say you'd see a big drop in ET. Not 3.73s to 4.10s! The drive shaft sheds a little weight but not enought to effect ET. Get them drag radials babe.

Got the car back with 4.10's installed. I notice a slight difference between the 3.73's and 4.10's. I'll have the DS installed once its cut to the proper size #irsproblems. I'm glad 5th gear is more usable when on the highway. I'm kinda happy with it, just glad to have the car back
