Default Would you buy a 98 GT with 250k miles for $1,000

Hey guys. I'm really new to Mustangs but have always love how they look and drive. I local guy is selling me his 98 GT 5 speed, clean title. He says he THINKS motor might have about 100k but chassis does state 250k. Body is in ok condition and car runs great and even AC works. Would it be an ok buy for $1000? Plus guys says he lost title so we would both go to DMV to register it under my name.

So the question is. Would u guys purchase a mustang with that many miles? I come a history of buying Imports so 250k does not scare me but this is different.

Few pics to show u guys the car

I would check the carfax and see if there are any red flags.

I would also be a bit wary of no title.

That car needs o be totally gone over before u even consider taking it to the track just to make sure its safe with mileage like that the torque boxes, suspension components and hardware, brakes, brake lines etc etc need to be checked. Also its a sub 200 horsepower car so u less u wanna be in 15s gonna need a new motor those non pi 2v engines are dogs

That depends if you're doing the swap yourself or paying someone.I say go for it and let the modding begin.

Well the track we have here its a 1/8 and as long its under 10sec on the 1/8 I would be happy. And yes I would to a total check down on the car before taking it.

The installation is not a problem. Me and a buddy would do it. My question is how much would a stock 4.6 cost me or if I wanted to upgrade to a PI motor?

I would make him go through the process of getting a new title. That's going to be a pain for anyone who isn't the owner. Tell him it's part of the deal. Other than that, go for it. Tough to find anything for $1000 anymore that even resembles a car.
