Default Weird click click click click click click coming from the dash when I turn it on.

I imagine an AC servo about to say "bye bye."

It clicks about 10 or 12 times at start up every time.

Everything AC related seems to work fine, but I guess it's only a matter of time.

What's irritating is, the freakin' car only has 6545 miles on it, but it's out of warranty.

Anybody experience this also?

Thanks for any ideas.

Sounds like a blend door actuator.

Does it go from hot to cold okay? Does the air come out of the correct vents?

It still gets ice cold. I tried toggling back and forth from fresh to recirc, and that seems to be working right.

The vents seem to be operating correctly.

I haven't tried the heat, you don't use much heat in Houston, even in winter.

Maybe I'll try that to see what happens?

Thanks, good idea. I'll try that.

its the blend door actuator. went on mine after 10,000 miles. easy fix to do yourself and costs under $25 bucks. do a search on the topic so you can figure out which of the 3 actuators it is.

Had the same thing happen to me. I believe I purchased one but never got a chance to install it. PM me if you want me to take a look for it and it's yours, just pay postage.

Thanks again everybody.

So the air is still cold, so I guess that tells me that the door is stuck in the cold position?

I haven't got around to messing with the temp to see if it goes to heat yet, I only drive the car about once a week. When I do, I'll check it out.

That's good to know about it being a cheap and easy fix.

Ranzo, thanks a bunch. Let me check it out and I'll get back to you if I think I need it.

door isn't stuck, you just have a couple of broken teeth on the cog that opens it. that's why you hear the clicks. it will likely get worse and fail at some point. but it is incredibly annoying.

Hi 65Raven65,

I recommend you bring it in to your Ford Dealer and speak with the service manager. He is in the best position to ensure a proper diagnosis, and will be able to provide available options and/or coverage for any work needed.

Also, remember repairs done at a Ford Dealer come with a 24 months/unlimited miles warranty. You can schedule an appointment online here. Let me know the outcome.
