DISCLAIMER: Be careful who you buy from, Mustangforums.com is not responsible for ensuring your deal goes ok. With that out of the way, keep these things in mind:

Buyers:
1. Typically the seller would require you to send the money before shipping your part out - make sure you have an avenue to recover your money in the event this person does not ship anything out. Make sure you know how to reach this person.
2. Be especially wary of new members joining to sell things! Your chances of being scammed are much higher with someone who isn't a regular member on the boards!
3. Try to avoid sending money out of the country especially via Western Union, out of country scammers are virtually never prosecuted unless its tons of money and even then good luck finding them - and their preferred method of payment is Western Union.
6. If the deal sounds too good to be true, it probably is!

1. Joining this site for the sole purpose of selling something is frowned upon unless you're a site sponsor. In some cases your posts may even be removed!

NEW RULES:

1.) If you are a dealer, or have more than 25 parts to sell at once, you MUST contact a member of the Mustang Forums staff to ask to become a sponsor. This section is not a place to advertise for your business OR for you to use as an “ebay store”. Take that to ebay. This section is for active, contributing members of Mustang Forums to buy/sell/trade parts or cars in (i.e. you don’t come on to this site and try and buy OR sell something as your first post). If you are caught violating this rule, you will be banned end of story.

2.) Post a price in the original post. For EACH item. If you are not set on the price, post “o.b.o.” next to the price (or best offer) so people know they can make offers. If you refuse to post a price, the thread will be deleted.

3.) DO NOT EVEN ATTEMPT TO RIP MUSTANG FORUM MEMBERS OFF. This forum is International now. There are people on here from every corner of the US as well as some across the pond, and to the north in Canada. There are also many active members who are police officers who are more than willing to lend a hand to catch a thief. Just don’t even think about trying anything.

4.) Post a picture of the item for sale/trade. Post MANY pictures of the car for sale. Period. No pics in the thread…then you don’t sell on mustangforums. And this entails an ACTUAL picture that YOU take with a CAMERA. Not some “stock” picture that you find off the internet. If you don’t have a camera, borrow one, or pick up a cheap 35mm and have the pictures developed onto a CD. If that is still too much work, PM one of the moderators for help on posting pictures.

5.) Post your LOCATION in the original post AND title of the post (at least the state, city and state if it fits) as well as the YEAR of the car, or years that the parts will fit on. This is also required, no location and you will be asked to post it or the thread will be deleted.

6.) DO NOT post an ebay link/craiglist listing in your thread. Period. If you want people to bid on your item, search the Want To Buy ads and PM them the link.

7.) WTB ads. These are ok. Just don’t flood the for sale sections with them. USE the “search” feature at the top of the page before posting. It is probable that someone else has “wanted to buy” that car or item before. Then you can see who has the item you are looking for.

8.) NO THREAD BASHING. This does not help sell stuff. It only aggravates the seller. You don’t want people to do it in YOUR thread, so don’t do it in theirs. If their price is off, PM them and let them know.

9.) Only make ONE thread for your item(s). We have an “EDIT” feature for a reason. When you post two threads, they get “bumped” at different periods, and sometimes two different people want the same item and it gets messy. Just make ONE thread and EDIT it as needed, for price changes, add/delete new/sold items, etc.

10.) If someone says they want the item, but need a few days to pay for it, offer the item to them first, unless you are offered more by someone else. If that happens PM the person who showed interest first and see if they will match the new offer. If not, sell it to the new buyer. DO NOT sell it to whoever sends you payment first.

11.) We STRONGLY RECOMMEND the buying/selling of items using Paypal. This makes disputes much easier to settle and we are not held liable for any mistakes you make. If you meet up with the person and give them cash, and that is between you, the seller, and the buyer. If you prefer to use a personal check or money order, please be very cautious to who you are sending it to. It is at YOUR discretion. If you aren't comfortable with the buyer/seller then listen to your first instinct and look else where. That "awesome deal" come around again.

12.) “Bumping”. Keep it to “once a day” please. If you are caught bumping your thread every 3 hours, your thread will be locked as a warning. Do it again and it will be deleted. Do it AGAIN, and you will be banned.
