Indeed. I voted "No" not because I believe it could be harmful to drive 20 miles on the stock tune with aftermarket gears, but because I believe it to be pointless.

Just my 2 cents, but if you are running out of warranty and the car is running fine, just leave all your mods how they are. A check up is a good idea, just be mindful what the dealer might suggest and how much they charge to do it. I personally dont see the need to temporarily return the car to stock form just for a check-up.

You'd probably get a check engine light immediately if you ran CAI and stock tune.

I assumed he was going to put the stock air box on before changing to the stock tune.

checkup because your going out of warranty soon?
who cares then, drive in at red line with a big *** grin on your face not like they will refuse to work on your car because it has an intake/tune on it

If your that intimidated about going to the dealership over a CAI & Tune just for a checkup then you are driving the wrong car.

I just tell the service rep to specifically tell the mechanic that my tune is aftermarket. Most appreciate the heads up.

if you have no issues related to the engine that they are fixing or diagnosing, i would definatly not remove it.
