94 GT T56 Swap from AOD-E
I have been trying to figure out what i need to swap a T56 trans into my 94Gt SN95 body that has a 5.0L and a AOD-E auto.
So far i have been told i need the following.
T56 trans with mech speedo pickup (tooth driven) ford racing M-7003H bellhousing included
10.5" Clutch but ford racing says i can run a 11" with the flywheel below and it will fit inside the bellhousing, is this true?
Flywheel (pref billet steel) M-6375-A302
94-04 clutch cable
94-04 Quadrent
94-04 firewall adjuster
94-04 pedal assembly (just purchased on ebay last night)
94-04 Shifter
94-04 Shifter housing/boot
86-93 Clutch fork
Here is what i do not know
I am told i need to shorten the driveshaft, ford racing does not have an exact number on how much to shorten
I have been told i need to modify my crossmember, but i seen a crossmember on D&D performance in a kit but do not want to buy the kit since i can get the trans cheaper and driveshaft done cheaper.
What else can people tell me and what am i missing?
Thanks

It costs less to have a shaft shortened and balanced than to buy a new one.
You can make your own cross member also.
You will need to tune the PCM deleting the AT control functions.

Exactly my thoughts. I am using tweecer so turning off the AT control functions will not be a problem. Anyone know how much to shorten the driveshaft.
