Good to hear... I've logged almost 15k in 6 months (like the Stang )... I hold on to 'em and run 'em hard... Usually don't unload until 200k or more.... I've got two Jeeps with that on them now...

I'm thinking I'll score a 2011 5.0L Stang in 2014... so I should have about 140-150K on the present one by then

Exactly, I do alot of highway driving and being behind dump trucks you can just hear all the rocks and debris hitting the front of the car. I always speed past them as quickly as possible and try not to follow closely behind other cars.

WasVette, that is great to hear your car going strong that long. I think our stangs are engineered pretty darn good

I wasn't saying that Ford's paint isn't adequate it just being where I live and having the same car and paint color I have had a time keeping it perfect but maybe he doesn't have to worry about it. Maybe where he lives they sweep the roads and keep them in great shape. In Charleston, South Carolina you will earn the paint chips.

Good to hear OP. I plan on keeping mine for a long time, but at best 9-10k a year.
Last car was a 2V 4.6l in my tbird, 250k still ran strong, and got a good buck for it.

Here it is running the 1/4 with 240k miles, slow, something like 16.6 @ 83mph, but it made it!

The fact you are on your original clutch is amazing. When you are at a stop light is your foot down on the clutch or are you on the brake with the tranny in neutral?

Sure glad to know you're car is still doing fine. Don't know about you, but when sitting at a light I'm in neutral with my foot off the clutch. Only time my foot is on it is when taking off or shifting. Learned the hard way on MG's to do that. The throwout bearings in them are just a carbon ring and you have to pull the engines to change a clutch. Looking forward to your 200k report.

thats amazing. does it feel like its lost any power at all over the years? i've got almost 49k on mine, and i want to make sure it doesn't lose any power due to wear and tear and that kind of stuff.

If it is going to be a short light I leave in 1st and depress the clutch. If I know it will be a longer cycle I go straight to neutral and leave the clutch out with my foot on the brake...I can't believe how tight it still is....but I always positively launch it in 1st and use 2nd a lot to start if there is any grade (4:10 helps with that).

Hard to say with the mods. It doesn't feel like it's lost anything. With the combo of mods and finally a tune I like, it runs like a scalded ape for not being F.I. The Nitto 555's have a hard time staying planted.
