TR3650 Tranny Max HP..
We all know that once you reach one goal, you're already looking to reach the next one. Once I put the V1 in my mustang, I would have reached my goal of having a 400 RWHP New Edge GT.. Now I'm looking to the next goal; 500 RWHP. I've decided to save up and buy a MMR block and plan on having it by next June (also full suspension upgrade). I've read alot of good info on the GT's stock block max capacity (475 to the crank) but haven't heard anything about the Transmission. The Transmission that I currently have in my car is only a year old. I screwed up my syncros last year and the folks who I have my warranty with were nice enough to buy me a rebuilt tranny. So enough rambling.. How much can the TR 3650 handle? Can I buy components to beef up my Tranny? Thanks guys and as always, any info would be greatly appreciated..

^^^ hey i am running stock tranny and rear end at my power level with no problems it has been almost 10,000 miles. Not ideal but i figured I would replace tranny once it starts to go. Note my car is not a track car though.

Transmissions are not rated by HP but rather by input torque capacity. The 3650 is rated for 360lbft maximum continuous input torque--though this has been found to be very conservative rating, many Mustangs run 500-600lbft though the 3650.
At the 5252 rpm input (to make the math simple and a typical power peak for our engines) that would be 360HP.
Hook a 3650 up to a Honda S2000 spinning 8000 rpm and the "rated" HP would be 550; connect it to a diesel with maximum output at 3000 rpm and the rated HP would be 205...

Thus thread might be dead but i would like to know... i have a basically full bolt ons 03 gt. Stock clutch and tr3650 with about 106k miles on it. Would the stock clutch handle a 100shot and radials? Or do i definitely need a stronger clutch?

I would most def upgrade the clutch. How much power do you plan on putting down?

Will the tr3650 itself handle 370 to the wheels?
