Now Thats what I'm Talkin about right there.... Of course the Barn is optional....a Nice thick tree branch does wonders.

Yes I'm aware of Geometrical Properties and their effect on Weight distribution. I also Wasnt trying to pick a Powerstroke diesel out of an F550 with a 1000 lb hoist. I really doubt that an extra 12 inches would make up the added 450 lbs to cause metal fatigue.

This wasnt meant as a debate on Physics, and of course I wouldnt encourage anyone to put themselves in harms way (If it was taken that way, I apologize). It was an experience, and a "Heads- Up" to OP of something to look out for if he was Purchasing a hoist.
