Default Is it worth fixing?

well my beautiful 92 decided to go for a joy ride last week, the ebrake evidently wasn't holding much and she popped out of gear, rolled about 200 yards down a hill and into a tree. luckily nobody was hurt and no real damage done besides the car., another foot over and it would have been in a guys living room. either way, now I've got some frame damage on the front drivers side. from what i can tell it gonna need a hood, fender, bumper header panel, wheel liner, headlight, horn, and battery box., the wheel is fine, i've measured the wheelbase its perfect, and the door lines up perfectly and opens and shuts fine still.

i'd just like to get some opinions on the whole thing. I absolutely love this car and constantly got offers for it but never would sell it. I don't have a ton of money, but want to know what i'm looking at repair-wise at a shop. (i have found a very reputable guy that said he can do it on the side for me at a "good deal" and he may be willing to trade for some of my stash of ammo).

Holy crap!!!!!! I would look up the cars private party value and if the repairs are gonna equal more than its worth I'd prolly buy another car and swap parts over. No sense in digging a money pit. The frame damage is what bothers me. Frames are designed to absorb impact and deform to soak up some of the impact that you would otherwise receive. That's compromised now and will never be able to absorb as much shock again. I walk away from cars with any frame damage, regardless of price.

Well I've sat where you now do. I put my stang into a tree square in the middle of the car, pushed the radiatior 1/4 inch from my front pulleys. Your car is toast in my opinion, take your parts and start the adventure of engine/trans/reared swapping. I got a new chassis from a junk yard for under a 1k, was a v6 auto, now a v8 manual

Only you can make that call, sorry to see that thou. I'm kinda in your boat, but my notch has cancer. I've been looking for clean rollers up here but they're rotten or your gonna pay a premium. I say if you have someone that's going to cut you a deal on labor, and its a solid car, definitely fix it. Yeah it might be a money pit, but the bodyshop should give a pretty close estimate. My car is to far gone to be fixed on the cheap, but I think I'm still going to do it. I've done dumber things.

He said its got frame damage, that's hardly solid. Not something I'd gamble my life over sentimentality with.

Damn! This happened to my friend the other day too. That really sucks man, I'm sorry to see that. I adjusted my ebrake as soon as it happened to my friend and I make sure that thing is on now!

Yes, I was assuming all damage was to front frame rail. Op said wheel base was unchanged and door operated normally. LMR offers weld-in replacement front frame rails, fender apron, and radiator core support, yeah those parts add up to alittle over $600, but its still an option.

Looks like it sustained frame damage, due to that, it's better to scrap it and part out the good stuff.
