Different strokes for different folks.
Plus he's wanting to beat his dads 99 Cobra, they're the None supercharged Cobra's so motor to motor is what he's after.

standard bore 302, trickflow r intake, comp cams xr282hr (.565/.575), 70mm tb, 1 3/4 headers, afr 185 heads (milled for more compression), 77mm ma, 24# injectors, 1.6 rockers, factory 9.2-1 5.0 pistons (10.5/1 with the milled afr's), factory 5.0 cast rods and crank.
432hp at 6000rpm, 381lb-ft at 5600rpm

i think there some good info here guy's...alot was thrown out,and like this person said he's not familiar with parts..
intakes....edel/holley/trickflow top three...cannot go wrong either way
heads.....afr/trickflow/brodix
cams.....lunati/trickflow/and there's custom
blocks....outside of dart/manowar/dss level20.....stock.....just put some forged lite pistons,and maybe a girdle...any more is just a waste.
like i said any manufacture listed you cannot go wrong with..

Personally I would just do heads/cam/intake and a mild supercharger. That could be done for close to 5g, prolly a touch more depending on the parts you pick, and it would give you the streetability and HP numbers that you want.
Comp Cams and Crane Cams are also good brands, both make many cams for different applications.
