Hi Folks,

I just bought a 2000 mustang v-6 automatic and would like to know if the radiator reservoir fuild should move up and down from the cold and hot markings on the tank? I have mine set on the cold line and when I drive the car around it's still at the cold mark on the reservoir tank when I check the markings. Is this normal for my car and if not what could be wrong and is there a recall on this area? Thank you for your help and have a nice day.

i never really payed attention to my resivoir tank. its not a big deal. if your not running hot, and the coolant isnt low in the system, youve got nothing to worry about. although your radiator cap may not be function properly.

of course youre reservoir tank for youre rad is important, Its their just in case youre rad runs low on coolant that refills the coolant lost from the rad, Heres a tip, when youre car is at normal temp their should be a 1/25 coolant left in the reservoir, then when engine is off cold it should be at the max fill line.

its the complete opposite man. when the engine is hot, the resivoir tank will be higher, and when the engine is cold the tank level with drop.
