Help with Rear Brake Change on 98 GT
Hello,
I am in the process of changing my rear brakes and I have run into to problems/issues. If the first is that I can not get the pistons of the calipers to open up so that I can put it on the new pads and rotor. Is there anything special the rear need? The fronts opened up fairly easy. The next thing is that I took off the e-brake spring that attaches to the caliper. For the life of me, I can not get back on. Is there any tips and/or tricks to need to be done to get it back?
TIA,
Keith

Go to Autozone or any other store like it, and tell them you're changing the rear brakes on a Mustang. They should know exactly what you're talking about and give you the tool to rent that will compress the pistons.

first of all, why did you take the springs off?
i didn't bother gettingthe tool when i did mine, i just locked a visegrip on the piston and rotated it while pushing down on it at the same time
