ospho vs. eastwood rust dissolver
I had asked about rust dissolvers on here before and one that was mentioned was ospho. Is the Eastwood rust dissolver http://www.eastwoodco.com/jump.jsp?i...emType=PRODUCT
there virtually the same? Also can anyone tell me about how their rust encapsulator works? http://www.eastwoodco.com/shopping/p...ProductID=1136 Thanks!

RE: ospho vs. eastwood rust dissolver
The best product I've found is Metal-Ready. It is a phosphoric acid and zinc phosphate solution and is a very good base for POR-15. It is a very good welding conductive product and is made by the same company as POR-15. All you need to do is clean any grease or oil off the metal, remove any paint scale or loose rust, spray the metal until very wet and keep it wet for at least 30 minutes.

RE: ospho vs. eastwood rust dissolver
but i thought por 15 basically kills rustm why would you need a rust disolver also?
i am very confused now too
i was also wondering i have sone rust around where i need to weld something ( its where 2 pieces of metal over lap and are spot welded), i am wondering if i use por 15 and then weld will the por 15 flake off then rust again?
sorry to jack but it is semi related
