advantages of coilover setup
what are the advantages & disadvantages of a coilover suspension over the stock style struts and lowering springs?
also is the coilover setup better for roadracing or drag racing?
thanx for the replies

Coilover gives you infinite ride height adjustment.
Its better for roadracing and is just uneeded wieght on a drag car.

adds uneeded weight ehhhhh??? actually you shave off weight... I think you need to weigh the stock springs vs a set of coil overs......less..... I did weigh mine, lost 10 lbs almost with the conversion.....I also did a tubular k-member and lower tubular control arms after it was all said and done I had lost nearly 75 lbs off the front end and moved the battery to the trunk while I was at it.....you can retain streetability if you leave on the sway bar but for drag racing un hook it as it'll allow for quicker weight transfer to the rear..

they make kits for road racing and for drag racing...
as said already, great adjustability, and well if u get them, id think it would be stupid to not get adjustable struts/shocks aswell... im contemplating switching my front to a coilover set up

not trying to jack the thread but mjr46 said that you could take off the sway bar for better weight transfer. My question is, is it safe to take that off for road driving, is that gonna hurt my steerability?

RE: advantages of coilover setup
for street use leave it on.... drag race remove it because it slows the lift of the front control arms down and availible travel......in drag racing the quicker you can get the front to lift and throw the weight to the back the better traction off the line you'll get and the less energy you will expend in doing such
