Window trim removal... how?

Window trim removal... how?
Before i go tuggin on that stuff... how do i remove the trim around the front and back windshield? what is holding it there? I'm painting my car myself and getting that trim off is the last step before i primer!!!! Going poppy red again! Go Nason 2 stage!

ok... i'll check out kragen tomorrow... any other advice? if i just take down to the window guy would he do it for a couple bucks? it's worth $20 bucks if you ask me to just have it done by someone that does it all day long every day!

Darn sure worth a try. I'm sure a glass shop guy could do it in a few minutes. You might go to the shop just before closing and talk to one of the guys in the back about doing it "after hours".

If an employee of mine was running his own business out of my shop (i.e. using my shop, electricity, insurance and taking business away from me), he'd be out the door!
The tool isonly a few bucks and it is pretty easy to remove the trim once you see how the clips are oriented and holding it in.

My 66 window trim had never been off before. My bodyman(35 years experience)and I removed them 5-6 hours later. It was a big job. In addition to releasing the clips the old window sealant was holding them. Pay somebody to remove your trim. Get a quote in writing, for the job, not per hour. That's my advice.
