Default Tach doesn't read right.

I used the diagnostic mode to see my rpms digitally and I noticed that my tach is off somewhere between 200-300 RPMs. Anyone else have this problem? It'll say i'm idling at 7xx and my tach will read a hair under 1000. 850 and the tach says 1100
