Default 8.8 rear end swap in 66

I'm thinking of installing a 8.8 in my 66, I have most of the information I need for the install except the driveshaft. Is there a adapter that can go on the 66 driveshaft or will I need a complete new one? I'm running a 289 with a C4, so with the 8.8 installed I don't know if the length of the driveshaft changes. Or is there a swap out there that will work? I'm just trying to get my ducks in a row before jumping in.

Well, the driveshaft almost certainly changes length, and I guarantee the U joint does. The width is a bit off, and you'll need the Motorsport axle and drum kit to install 5-bolt wheels.

Why don't you just do a 9" instead? It could all be stone-stock then, at least to look at it. That would sure make life easy when you need maintenance.
