Default head gasket replace

ok so in a few months im gonna replace the headgaskets on my 97 t-bird. im getting the full top gasket kit from autozone, $211.00

just wondering how long it will take from start to finish. i am capable of doing the work myself, i just need to learn how to install the rocker arms correctly, and adjust them.

how long from start to finish, constantly working. possibly with a buddy to hand me tools when i need them.

should i go ahead and throw forged rods and pistons in it, while the top ends off? i plan on getting a full supercoupe supercharger setup next weekend $250 perfect condition.

thanks everyone

I'd HIGHLY recommend going to Ford for the gaskets and bolts. The newer MLS head gaskets from Ford are the ABSOLUTE best ones on the market, even for high hp applications with tons of boost.

plan on a few good days of work. label things when u disconnect take pictures etc. i would read in a haynes or chilton manual and read over the torque process. I bought fel pro gaskets and they are fine.

It only took me about 3-4 hours to change out my head gaskets, I had to wait overnight to get my heads resurfaced, but I wanted to make sure they were perfect.

ya when i had my civic i had to replace the headgasket, and it only took about 3 hours to do everything. and that includes haveing to pull off motor mounts and reseting the timing since its a sohc motor.
