Does anyone have the Flowmaster American Thunder Axle-Back Exhaust? It's on sale at American Muscle until tomorrow for $309 with free shipping. I don't want anything too loud or with too much drone. I'm thinking that $309 is not a bad price. Comments/thoughts?

They sound sound good. It's louder than stock but not too much. I don't know how the Flowmaster A/Ts are but the flow 40 series which I believe are the mufflers used to make the Flowmaster A/T axlebacks, did drone in my experience.

The ones that are on sale on AmericanMuscle.com are the American Thunder 17410. From what most ppl say, they are lounder than stock mufflers but not too loud and do not drone. The other set Flowmaster makes is the American Thunder Classics 817460. That set uses the classic original 40 series mufflers and are rectangular shaped with 4 inch tips. I just put the A/T classics on mine. They do drone pretty loudly from about 1600-2000 RPM and have a much more aggressive sound than stock mufflers.

I have them. I like the sound and it's not too loud unless you lay into it. I also like them because they do not have that raspy sound that some of the other mufflers have.

Idk, many people on here in the past have got them and quickly switched out. The vids are all out there, it's up to you if you like the note. Also, the vids and in person are quite different but you can get a little idea. Stay far away from stingers or mac if drone is a problem.

I loved them on the 05gt. On start up there was a nice rumble and during even somewhat hard acceleration the same. A bit of a drone occurred around 2000 rpm's but I did/do not do much highway driving so it was not an issue for me. I still miss that sound compared to my Magnaflows on the 09. Oh well. Good luck with your choice. I hope this satisfies the mod that stated I posted useless replies

I have them....considerable drone in a very narrow range between 1800-2200 RPM for me. Not a problem though.....and has settled down over time. You can get them to drone if you give too much gas in too low a RPM. 4th gear at 45 MPH at 2000RPM's or so is not good, so I just stay in 3rd and raise the RPM's a little. Otherwise sound great and lots of complements. Sounds old school nasty just cruising along and really gets loud when you get into it....never raspy. Love them.

I have them and the drone is as advertised 1800-2100 rpm in 4th of 5th. I personally dont like the drone and am currently looking at other options.

Damn, I had my mind set on the 817460 model but I do alot of interstate driving and that puts me right around 2,000 rpm's for the majority of my driving. I don't want to shell out almost $400 to be disgusted with the droning.
