i found a new old stock on ebay for $100.00, also while waiting for it to arrive i found one back east somewhere for the same $100.00. you just have to search around. there out there. the supplier back east had a few. they are re-manufactured ones.

just did this the 71 is the same except the plug the wires are even the same color just cut the plug off the old and solder onto the new one

If the break in the wire is not near the switch or plug, then it could easily be spliced. I'm wondering how it broke, though.
