cruise control stopped working
2004 Mustang GT, Auto Trans
about 6 months ago my cruise control stopped working, i don't know exactly when, but i do remember having to change my brake light switch one day becausee the brake lights stayed illuminated even with car off. i checked every single fuse inside the car and under the hood, all are fine, horn works, airbag light is off, everything in the car works except the CC. i'm a mechanic in the marine corps so i'm excellent at parts changing haha, i just don't have all it takes for electrical troubleshooting, so if anyone has any ideas from past experience or knowledge, let me know what parts to look into changing and i'll work my way through them until it starts working again. thanks to all

the same thing happened to my 04... it just stopped working one day when i tried to use it on the freeway. it stayed like that for about 7 months until one day couple months ago i tried it out of curiosity and it works fine now.

Your cruise control has a switch that attaches to your brake pedal to disengage it when you step on the brakes. If it's not hooked up correctly your CC won't work. And you said you replaced your brake light switch so this is very possibly your problem.

mine went out and i was changing fuses for my fog lights and found some bad fuses then changed them and messing with wires and then my cc started working again. not sure if it was a fuse or a short and not sure if this helps but thats my tidbit

this was my issue, the connector just pops onto the brake and its a 3 second fix.
