I WANT ECOBOOST! The Australians brag about it all the time. I love that Ford is finally figuring out efficiency and power. Though, my EPA estimates are way off from my real world MPG

There have been plenty of rumors and speculations over the past few years about the return of the turbocharged Ford Mustang, following in the footsteps of the Turbo GT and SVO Mustangs of the early 1980s. Although Ford execs have been quoted as saying that soon, every Ford vehicle would offer an EcoBoost option, it has not been definitively confirmed by anyone at Ford Motor Company that there would be a new Ford Mustang featuring their innovative EcoBoost technology – until now.

The folks at Jalopnik broke this story a short while ago, adding that when they contacted the folks at Ford public relations, the company would not deny that there was an EcoBoost’d Ford Mustang in the works. There is no clear indication as to whether Ford will use the newer 4-cylinder EcoBoost, the 3.5L V6 EcoBoost used in the Lincoln MKS and Ford Taurus SHO or a new EcoBoost engine but all three are possible options.

Just put that torque monster Ecoboost engine from the F-150 in the mustang. How awesome would 420 Ft Lbs and 28-30 Mpg be.

Pretty cool by the sounds of it but there is no financial sense in Doug away with the new 3.7 as some have said. It's not cheap to develop an engine, get it in a car, and market it to the masses. They've gotta keep that sucker around just for the financial sense of it IMO. Like its been said already im almost positive that this Eco boost will fall right in between the v6/gt as an intermediate model. If its a four banger then I think it be the "base model" then they'll bump up the hp of the 3.7, and 5.0. My best guess would be if it wa that line up is 300hp ecoboost, 350hp v6 and 425hp gt.

Just take the ecoboost out of my F150, put a 6 speed manual behimd it with about a 3.3 axel and whatch the **** out. That mill makes a 6000# truck feel light as a feather, A nice tight light car and then your having fun.

I know quite a few married men with children that would love an excuse to buy a mustang, no better argument then ~40 mpg and a small price tag.

Don't like it? Don't buy it.

The mustang never was and never will be a muscle car, it is a pony car. Carroll Shelby even called it a Secretary's car.
