Low Coolant Light 99 GT
Hello all.
When I bought this car, on the drive home the low coolant light came on. I took it to Autozone as I was already 60 miles into my drive home. When I turned the car off so they could scan and see if there was anything, and than turned it back on, the light was out. Once I got home, I let it cool down and I added coolant to it, which looked pretty dark, almost as though it hadn't been changed in forever. This past week, after having this happen every few days, I had the coolant system flushed and refilled. Same problem afterwards with the light coming on. I took it this morning and replaced the thermostat and the coolant temperature switch. I noticed that it does not heat up as fast as it was doing, however, once it hit 1/4 on the gauge, the light came on. When I came to a stop, I turned it off and back on, and the light stayed out until I got to my aparment. The only other ideas that I have is the overflow bottle (the sensor in there, not sure if it is replaceable) and the water pump. Anyone had a similar incident or know of any possible solutions?
Thanks,
Doug

Why are you replacing components if its only throwing a low coolant light?
The t-stat, temp sensor, water pump, all have nothing to do with having false low coolant lights. The coolant level is up to par correct? Then the sensor in the tank is most likely faulty, its a common issue.
