Default V6 Magnaflow Dual Exhaust Conv. Rattle?

Anybody else out there with an 05-09 V6 and the Magnaflow dual exhaust conversion? I've been experiencing a rattle coming from the hanger for the muffler on the drivers side of the vehicle. I thought this might be related to the fact that a hanger had to be put there, instead of one being there stock. It only occurs at idle and I've applied some "magic bond" type stuff. It's a clay that, once dried, is supposedly as strong as weld. I put this over the hanger where it seems to be rattling, but of course that wasn't enough and I still get the occasional rattle while sitting at a stop light, parked with the engine running, etc.

PLEASE help me!! I want to get rid of this ASAP

Check the hanger on the muffler itself. The back one could be tapping the bumper support. Mine did that once the car warmed up, and I could see the spot where it was hitting. Just had to adjust the muffler again to slide it further to the front of the car.

Well for me it is the hanger, as I've left the car running and got under there and checked. It's right where the upper part of the hanger connects to the frame of the car. I'm just not sure how to keep it from rattling because the fix (the clay/weld stuff) that I tried doesn't seem to get the job done. Any ideas on what will?

Hmm, I need to pay attention to this one. I have the Pypes conversion with Magnaflow mufflers and every time I begin to accelerate, once it hits a certain RPM, I can hear some rattling too. I thought some bolts were making their way loose

I had this problem and it is what unitedwestang said. On the driver side the muffler has a metal rod that goes through the hanger and it is touching you bumper. Look under your car and you will see a good inch of clearance on the passenger side but no room on the driver side. I took off the muffler and trimmer the rod about half an inch and reinstalled. No more rattle since then. I used the dual pypes conversion with gt take offs.

I have the same exhaust and had the same issue.

I solved it by shoving a big piece of rubber into the hole where the hanger goes in. Problems solved... no more rattling.

yup its the hanger hitting the bottom of the car. ive just gotten used to it and had an exhaust shop move up the exhaust some so that it gets away from most of the contact point. still a little bit at 1st start up but not that bad anymore
