Default Replace Ignition Coil??

I believe my car has its original ignition coil. Since its over 23 years old now (it was built in December 1988), do you think I should replace the coil? The car has 62,301 original miles on her. Do these coils lose efficiency due to age? Just wondering... If so, I would probably go with a stock replacement, as they seem to be adequate. Let me know your thoughts.

PS - Who's gonna win the Super Bowl? My New England Patriots, that's who! GO PATS!!!

True, Mike. Very true! I am just sick of my car leaving me stranded on the side of the road... seems it has been one thing after another, so now I am in offense mode! Trying to replace parts, before they crap out on me...

I feel your pain, mine is on a lift more than it is on the road

True... now both of your Stangs are out of commission... on the bright side, you have that disco era Jetta! :P Many years ago, I actually had a diesel Jetta from 1985. That car had like 280,000 miles on it when I bought it, and when I sold it it had well over 300k. Reliable as can be.

I just remembered.... I used to fill the tank in that Jetta (stick shift, five speed, I believe) and drive for like two weeks! Excellent gas mileage!

I fill mine every 7-10 days, gets 45-50 mpg's , better mpg's in the summer when the fuel is better

God, I'd probably have a brain fart one day and fill it up with standard gas.
