So your saying that not all tires that have the same series ie35 or 30) are the same? Michelin 295/30/20 will have a taller sidewall then another brand's 295/30/20?

Correct, we have found the both Michelin and Continental both have a larger side wall then other brands with the same profile. We found this to be true when we have had to do fitment on vehicles where every MM of space was needed to make the setup fit without rubbing.

When we encounter "extremely aggressive" fitment like that, we generally go with the Toyo's if we need a nice tire with a small profile for fitment that has tight tolerances. Hankook is another good brand that keeps a nice low profile.

Correct, these are the ratings but the fitment doesn't lie. These are our findings over years of test fitting a variety of vehicles with extremely aggressive setups.

For example we did a test fitment on a G37 with a very aggressive 20x10.5 wheel in the rear and a slammed suspension setup. The Continental rubbed and the Toyo's did not. Same exact tire sizes, different results.

Again, this will only be an issue in extreme cases where we need to take advantage of every MM of available space. We are also talking MM differences on the tires, not inches.

Quick Example: Yokohama 305/30/19 = 26.1 Diameter / Toyo Proxes = 305/30/19 = 26.3 Diameter

I know we are talking very little differences that will not really apply to most Mustang owners. But when you are fitting cars like we are, every little bit counts.
