Default 67 Mustang brake light problems

I seem to be having issues with the brake lights on my 67 coupe. The turn signals work on both sides and a new switch was installed during restoration. I installed a new brake light switch and rewired the connector. 12V is making it to the switch but still no lights. Two of the pigtails under the driver-side are also hot to the touch which makes me think they are drawing too many amps due to a short in the rear wiring loom. Any help would be great.
