Default Is it safe to run 235/55/17 on a 2002 gt?

Is is safe to run 235/55/17 tires on stock wheels on a 2002 mustang gt? any issues? got access to a good set of pulloffs and just dont wanna jump if its not safe.
any info would be greatly appreciated.

Are you going to mount them on the stock wheels? They should fit and work fine, the wheels will just stick out a little past the tire.

I don't imagine it's dangerous, but they're gonna be taller than stock and skinnier than stock. It'll look funny. Those tires belong on a big sedan or something. 245/45-17's are actually not a very expensive tire. Just get the right size.

The maximum rim width for a 235/55 17" tire is 8.5" or one half inch wider than OEM, so it is "safe to mount them on factory wheels.
