I think your title is correct, and the post was the type-o. The GT is a SOHC motor, the Cobra and Mach 1 got the DOHC (unless you have swapped one in).

Personally, I wouldn't push a stock motor into the 500hp range. It's on borrowed time.

Im all messed up here, talking with friends that know apparently everything. You are right its SOHC. Its the stock motor with K & N Cold Air, and Borla attack cat back exhaust.
Ive installed a stage 3 clutch and as well as a short throw shifter. Ive doubted my self about thinking it was a SOHC too many times it has raw power and its fast as **** for being a SOHC. Ive seen the tail lights of 2 Vehicles.
-Nissan 350z Procharged
-Turbo'd Ricer with 25 pounds of boost.
Ive beat lots of vehicles which I love
Trans Ams, (old 350,Ws.6)
Fox body 5.0L
Other Gt mustangs
This is why it was so hard for me to realize that it isn't a DOHC
Should I just scrap my motor and Build another motor up like a older efi DOHC 4.6 or something else. or keep mine and build it. ive read forums everywhere and no one has solid suggestion. I need assistance!
also thanks I looked at those turbos/prochargers

What a is real difference in cobras and gts engines. Simply cobra is build to sustain more power, there may be some other minor differences in SOHC and DOHC but, truly its just a different build engine. I would keep your stock engine and just work on putting better parts, that's only if you can do it yourself, otherwise i would just do a swap with lower mileage. I just recently got my first mustang, and i noticed that it picks up speed after you shift it to 3rd gear, first two are just to start moving your vehicle. With that said, it has a weak lower end power, and that's what SUPERCHARGERS are for, for lower end pretty much. Superchargers are instant, and turbos need time to spool up, and turbos are more likely to give you top end power. That's very simple explanation, and may not be applicable for every set up. I personally going to go with a supercharger that will get me to 400hp with supporting mods, that should be enough for quite a while.

I don't know why but ive tested my car from 0 - 60 mph / 0 - 100 km it ran in 6.2 seconds for stock.. I have incredible power in 1,2,3 but I notice it has significant less power in 4,5 but there is still pull.
People say not to even bother with building the gt engine to 500 horse cause it cant handle it, the reason why I thought it was DOHC for the longest time is, that I noticed it has 2 separate cams, 1 for even head. But in reality there should be 2 Camshafts per Head being 4v, instead of 2v.

I will agree with you on 5th gear. It is there just keep the speed in the highway, it doesn't pull what so ever. 1st i was able to reach 33mph redlining it, 61mph in 2nd redlining. Yesterday on our first car meet we were cruising and i would do 2nd gear pulls from 30-40mph and 3rd gear pulls from 50mph. I haven't tested my 0-60 because times are more likely to be inaccurate slightly, but should be pretty close if you time it yourself

The Cobras start with an aluminum block (70lbs lighter than the iron GT block) which is worlds stronger. They also are based on a forged Kellog crank instea of the cast crank the GT ha. Obviously, they are 4 cam heads instead of two. The intake is also designed more a much larger power band due to longer runners feeding into the heads.

03/04 Cobras are fully forged and supercharged via the Eaton M112.
