Help with turbo/supercharger
Hey so im looking to get a turbo or supercharger for my 2002 3.8L base coupe mustang. So i dont want the 3k turbos cause i cant afford that plus all the other parts i would have to buy with it. Im just looking for something simpler, probably nothing more than $500. I just want a nice sound and a little added HP. Below are some links of things i found. I think both are kind of cheap and probably wont do anything for me. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

Both are complete junk.
Here's a little lesson for you, especially in the automotive world, if it sounds too good to be true, then it 100% is.
Or....
If you want to play you have to pay.
Both are very correct statements.
A "cheap" turbo kit, which is one that's pieced together second hand with the piping all custom made yourself will still cost upwards of $2000, and odds are it won't work 100% correct.
A good used supercharger will still run upwards of $1500-2000 complete and you will still need supporting mods.
In short there is no such thing as a "cheap supercharger/turbo charger" or a $100 or less part that will add 30 rwhp. It just doesn't exist, well maybe in the land of Oz.

There is no such thing unless you own a machine shop and can custom grind cams, cut, port, and weld intakes. Oh, and don't forget performing valve jobs on the heads while porting the heads.
I have a "general equation" here.
1 rwhp = $30-50 (depending on the part, condition, etc.)
Superchargers will be near the $30 per hp mark, with "basic bolt ons" being near the $50 mark.

I have a complete m112 supercharger kit you could buy for 2k.
The thing about the ebay bought turbos is not true though. Do your homework and figure out the good from the bad and you are set. I have an ebay bought turbo on my setup and it works fantastic.
You will not do any sort of boosting for under 500$ that just wont happen.
