I'm curious how much they're raping... I mean... charging... you for that "check-up". What is the list of items that they're checking?

Before my warranty expired i went to an independant mechanic for an inspection.
He found a couple things, then i took it to the dealer for repair.
So my 2 cents is leave the tune and cai on and take it to an independant for inspection.
If the independant mechanic finds something wrong, then take it to the dealer and make sure the dealer has the parts in stock before you go in.

wow, this new generation has forgetten (or should i say never learned) to work on cars...?

I get the inspection thing but if it runs fine and there's nothing you see/feel wrong then chances are whatever they find "wrong" with the car will be deemed wear item and thus not be covered under your warranty.

I predict the dealer will mention the two following things:

Brake pads are more than 60% worn so you'll need to start thinkin about replacing them. Tires may also likely be worn to a level where you should start thinkin about them.

I would however recommend you get all your fluids flushed. Yes, I mean brake fluid, power steering fluid, tranny fluid, and coolant. I find it funny how almost noone does Brake and power steering fluid.

You can do most/all yourself in half a day.

Oh, and leave the car how you have it right now. CAI, Tune, Gears... If you can't take it to the dealer modified, you're going to the wrong dealer. They shouldn't have an issue with it unless your mod is the source of the failure.

I resent that, being that I am 26 and do ALL of my own maintenance, repairs, and modifications. I may be one of the few, but your generalization just isn't fair. I even drive a MANUAL! LOL
