Default found a used catback - problem is, on a flatbed

ok - so a guy local to us has a 2000 GT "for parts" sale, problem is the car isn't driveable but he's willing to sell the exhaust (Flowmaster) for a GREAT price - IF we pull it ourselves...

anyone know how to dissasemble a catback without any space under the car?

Have you asked the guy if he is willing to unload it off of the flatbed so it would be easier for you to get the exhaust off?

He pretty much said he's keeping it there so once it's parted out its going to the yard... Going to try again today.

What tools would I need to pull it? I know the hangars just slide off, but should we just cut?

You'll need to cut the mufflers from the tail pipes in order to get the pipes off from over the rear axle. Cut them up as close to the curve (where it goes up over) as you can.

wow - I'm not sure if I'm more excited or my son is, but I called the guy today and he will cut it for us and we can take it tomorrow

can't go wrong with a flowmaster catback for $50

Thankfully the guy was great - provided the saw, jack and a light... $50 later we got this :-)

muffler shop was too busy this afternoon - Saturday morning, we unleash the beast

any tips on cleaning off the rubber/tar off the polished tips without marring the finish? we used some soapy water (dawn) and some mother's chrome polish - but it's still stuck on there...
