Default Installing Torque converter this morning!

Im really excited to get my torque converter installed today and i want to share it with everyone.

another really pricey mod, at least for me it is.

I bought the TC from Dirtydog (alan) b/c I've heard so much great review and feedback from his work on mustang forums.

for me it was really pricey, $700+
Its a 10inch 3500 stall w/ a new/used flex plate . (sounds really high for our v6 right?, its the recommendation from DD based on what i want and my current setup plus future set up)

(general rule is a few hundred rpm below our max torque... i guess for us v6 its 3000 so a 2800 stall would be a good fit)

now im just waiting for a mechanic i found on craigslist to install it.... he's coming soon. the install will be 175 labor and he said around 3-6hours. that included sealants....

(what sealants, didnt' know there was seal kits involved in this... any truths to that?)

well i called a few places and it was 475 at my local speed shop, 350 from local auto shop 280 from another guy on craiglist, 165 + 25 for seals from another guy and finally this guy for 175.

kinda paranoid from scams on CL though. heard of many stories of stolen parts...

lets see how this goes.

I have a love/hate relationship with Craigslist.. Just be careful.

Tranny fluid needs to be drained to drop the tranny. Good time to replace tranny filter..

The price & time seems fair. If it was too much cheaper that would make me nervous. Good luck.
