No...it's definitely "sweating" through the hose somehow. There's no other way it would end up on the entire length of the hose, and it's definitely oil.

Heater hose isn't made for the hydrocarbons in fuel and oil so yes, it is sweating through the hose. It will eventually harden it as the rubber in the hose is destroyed, then it will crumble.

PCV hose or emissions hose will work for what you need. Those are typically sold in prepackaged lengths and not by the foot. It doesn't need to be hard plastic line.

The PVC/emission hose that I bought was sold by the foot and was on a big roll. It was not the hard plastic type of hose either.

As far as the UPR can being the best on the market, I will have to disagree. I had one on my 2014 GT and after having to replace the heater hose that I had on there originally, I discovered oil inside the hose at the intake as well as inside the snap connector that snaps on at the intake. I bought a Bob's oil separator after that and so far I've not found any oil at the intake connector.

I just went out and checked the hose at the intake on my fiancée's 2007 GT that is running a UPR can and it had oil inside the hose as well as on the intake port that the hose attaches to. This is the first time I've checked the one on her car since it was installed.

I contacted UPR about this issue when I discovered it on my car but have not heard back on what the resolution is. I'm going to call them back now that I've checked her car and found the same thing.

I will let you guys know. I emailed the guy I have been dealing with to tell him about her car and to find out if they have figured out anything to prevent this. He did tell me before that some oil will get through but personally I don't want to run a can that lets oil through even if it's just a little. The main reason I bought these cans was to prevent oil from reaching the intake.

I would be very surprised if any can were absolutely 100% effective for removing every bit of oil from the PCV system. I used to have those smoky startups with my '06 GT before my UPR can. That is totally gone. After 120,000 miles my spark plugs are absolutely clean, not a hint of oil on them.The can is roughly 3/4 full after 2500 miles.

I will say that the UPR can does catch a lot of oil so I was happy with it's performance in that manner but when I read about other cans on the market that people have said show no signs of oil at the intake hose, than I would rather have one of those. Bob's can and the Moroso can are two that come to mind.

I put the UPR can on my fiancée's car because she was getting the smoky startups and her 07GT only has 15,700 miles on it. I have not had a chance to see if the smoky startups are gone.

Looking at the design of the UPR can, I have my own theory as to why oil is still getting past the SS mesh and going into the output hose to the intake. I did tell UPR what I thought and they were going to be looking into that.

I have checked my UPR can and have had around 1 to 2 ounces after driving 2500k miles. I also have checked several times the intake hose and it has been bone dry. I mounted the can higher up on the firewall and used PVC hose and covered with braid with Ford connectors. I also down shift a lot which to me would add more oil into the intake. I believe the can is doing its job just fine.

If your intake hose is dry than your can is doing what it is supposed to do. On my 14 GT, I had the can mounted where UPR suggests to mount it and on my fiancée's 07 GT, it is mounted high up on the firewall and hers still had oil in the intake hose. Maybe I just got two defective cans? I checked the intake hose on my Bob's can yesterday that's on my 14 GT and it was dry at the quick connect on the intake. I still have not heard anything back from UPR.
