Ok thanks for letting me join!
First time poster with hopes of getting an answer to my question that I was unable to find on the net.

I have a 1996 Mustang V6 auto trans that has had a trans issue for awhile and has finally got too bad to drive. I was going to have this one rebuilt but found a great deal on a 1998 Mustang V6 auto trans with less than 80K and thought I would take a chance on it. Everything went well, it looks the same and it all bolted up fine. As we were just finishing up the last few things I noticed that the passenger side electrical plug on the 98 trans was just a little different than my 96. The 98 has only 7 pins/prongs and the 96 has 9 pins/prongs, the connector will fit on the 98 trans but will it work correctly missing the 2 pins?
