Default Trying to find Hardware / fasteners

I'm looking for new fasteners for my rearmost inner trunk panel. (the first panel you take off when replacing tail light bulbs. I can find the small plastic clips at a local auto parts store, but when I showed them the plastic thumb screw they had no idea.

Any idea where to find them or what ford calls this? One is missing, the other is badly stripped out.

Have you tried Ford?

A quality body shop might have a source for them.

I'm saving the stealership as a last resort. I hadn't thought of a body shop though. Might have to stop by one tomorrow. If nothing else maybe they could give me a name to google.

Might as well get as many as you can. They strip out rather easily because they only have 2 threads. Once you remove that trunk panel to monkey with the tail lights they are toast and will never stay on right again. They use one of the threaded posts from the taillights to secure the trunk panel.
Any misalignment in replacing that panel will result in those pins not sitting right either...so get a few extra to have around when the replacements go south too.

They've been using that same pin since at least '05

I ordered 4 just to be safe, and when I saw that shipping was $11 I added a few more odds and ends to make it worth my while. Thanks for the heads up though. If I burn through these four I'll fab something out of metal

If you get to that point, please let me know!
I'd love to see something that had an actual nut on or inside that OEM plastic piece

To be honest, my second thought was using universal door lock ***** like these or similar and re-tapping them. I checked with my old factory ***** hoping they'ed fit but they're a bit too tight.

I think the only place you can get these is from a unicorn crapping them.

I had the darndest time finding them for my 01 when I broke almost every one removing my trunk panels.

You'd think a piece like this would be sold in a bag of 50 for crying out loud.

Can you tell I'm passionate about this?
